Our community schools team celebrated Black History Month with a vibrant lineup of community nights in February. These evening events at local schools offer students and their families enriching activities, cultural experiences and shared meals, creating meaningful opportunities to connect with each other and the broader community.

More than 300 supporters gathered last week at Festival Hall to celebrate United Way of Racine County’s 2025 community campaign.

With tax season beginning Monday, Wisconsin residents have several free options to file their returns without paying hefty preparation fees.
WisTax isn't the only free filing option available. Services like Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, or VITA, offer tax preparation and filing completely free of charge.

Students smiled as they carried and unloaded boxes Monday morning.
That was the culmination of a Mitchell K-8 School eighth grade capstone project where students donated more than 4,000 items to the Racine County Food Bank and Women’s Resource Center.
Mitchell students Monica Martinez and Javaya Young appreciated helping the community and said it was meaningful to see the results of their efforts.
“It feels good to give back to our community and see people in need getting what they need,” Martinez said.
Nov. 24, 2025 (Racine, WI) — Local nonprofits interested in applying for funding from United Way of Racine County’s 2026-27 annual community investment funding cycle are required to attend the upcoming community investment meeting on Thursday, Dec. 4.
