Get Your Steps in and Help Community School Students Get to School on Time

Ensuring children have access to education is pivotal for their future success. The Walking School Bus, established in collaboration with Racine Unified School District, aims to diminish absenteeism and ensure the timely and safe arrival of community school students.

In order for this program to succeed, volunteers are needed. Volunteers serve as the foundation that enables the effective operation of this meaningful program. Through their involvement, they forge meaningful connections with children in our community, all while experiencing the health advantages of staying active.

Celebrating our Employee Campaign Coordinators

Employee Campaign Coordinators (ECC) are the driving force at the heart of our corporate campaigns. They work in collaboration with our Investor Relations Managers (IR Managers) to run campaigns that generate a significant portion of our funding.

ECCs have three main responsibilities: educating, asking and collecting, and reporting.

They tell their co-workers about the impact United Way of Racine County makes in our community, laying the foundation for why individuals want to give. Resources are provided, and our IR Managers assist with presentations for employees.

VITA: A Season of New Opportunities

United Way of Racine County’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program continues adapting and improving our services for Racine County taxpayers every year. The COVID-19 pandemic is a great example of this. During this time, our services had to be adjusted to serve our clients virtually. However, as of last tax season, VITA has returned to offering our full capacity in-person sites.

Last year, VITA returned more than $1,165,000 to Racine County residents through more than 740 completed tax returns.
