VITA volunteer schedule selection

Thank you for volunteering with VITA for 2026. 

Below you will select your role and schedule for the upcoming tax season. 

When selecting your schedule, you may choose as little or as many shifts as you would like to cover weekly. We keep our schedule consistent from week to week to allow us to book appointments in advance. If you know you will need days off during tax season, you can list them in the scheduling form. 

Locations, days and times for our weekly in-person, traditional sites are:

Workforce Solutions - 1717 Taylor Ave., Racine

  • Mondays 1-7pm

Racine Public Library - 75 7th St., Racine

  • Tuesdays 10am-2pm 
  • Thursdays 2-7pm 

RUSD Community Pathways Campus - 2333 Northwestern Ave, Racine

  • Wednesdays 1-7pm

Burlington Public Library - 166 E. Jefferson St, Burlington

  • Fridays 11am-3pm

Case High School - 7345 Washington Ave., Racine

  • Saturdays 9am-1pm

Virtual VITA team (Requires secure password-protected internet and a laptop or computer. Access to an additional screen is recommended)

  • Allows secure preparation of returns from home.
  • By selecting to be on this team, you are agreeing to participate in additional trainings regarding the use of the virtual platform.
  • Scheduled virtual team meetings allow for additional support and training.

The virtual VITA team will receive additional training and resources to ensure success. You have the option to only be on the virtual VITA team or to volunteer in-person at a site and still assist with virtual tax returns dependent on your availability.

Schedule Selection

What type of certification do you plan on completing?
What is your preferred tax certified volunteer role?

Please select one or more volunteer roles. 
Will be scheduled for the following Saturdays to support student volunteers - 2/7/26, 2/21/26, 2/28/26, 3/14/26 and 3/28/26
Volunteer tax preparers are needed for all in-person sites including the following Saturdays at Case High School: 1/31/26, 2/14/26, 3/21/26 as well as for our virtual VITA team. You will be scheduled for your selected locations and shifts or prepare returns virtually.
Minimum of 1 year VITA experience required. You will be scheduled for your selected locations and shifts.
What is your preferred non-certified volunteer role?

Please select one or more volunteer roles. 
I would like to support the clients as they enter the site and start them with their client paperwork.
I would like to support the communications between limited English-speaking clients and English-speaking volunteers.
By checking this box, you confirm that you understand that this role requires tax certification through the IRS. Information and training options are given during your virtual orientation. It is your responsibility to complete certification before you are able to work with clients. Certification should be obtained by 1/19/26 and your volunteer agreement (form 13615) that is obtained through Link and Learn should be electronically signed and emailed to Lori Riffer or Vanessa Maldonado.
By checking this box, you confirm that you understand that this role requires Volunteer Standards of Conduct and Intake/Interview and Quality Review certification through the IRS. This role does not require tax law certification. Information and training options are given during your virtual orientation. It is your responsibility to complete certification before you are able to work with clients. Certification should be obtained by 1/23/25 and your volunteer agreement (form 13615) that is obtained through Link and Learn should be electronically signed and emailed to Lori Riffer or Aeshea Moreno.
Please select the weekly shifts that you would like to be scheduled. Your weekly schedule will run from 1/26/26-4/10/26.

You may select as little or as many shifts as you would like but remember that this will be your weekly schedule. Appointments are booked in advance and they are dependant on the number of volunteers at each site.
For example: let us know if a shift is listed from 3:30-6:30pm but you are only available from 4-6:30pm.
Please select the weekly shifts that you would like to be scheduled. Your weekly schedule will run from 1/26/26-4/10/26.

You may select as little or as many shifts as you would like but remember that this will be your weekly schedule. Appointments are booked in advance, and they are dependent on the number of volunteers at each site. 

 
For example: let us know if a shift is listed from 4-7pm but you are only available from 5-7pm.
