Want to support your neighbors during this time?

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will likely be delayed as the federal government shutdown continues. In Wisconsin, SNAP is known as FoodShare. This delay may leave families and individuals without critical food assistance. If you are not affected by this delay in food benefits and want to help out, this page is for you.

Ways to help

  • Donate
    • Use the form at the right (browser) or below (mobile) to donate directly to food insecurity efforts
      • Scroll down inside the form to completely fill out the information to donate
    • General donations to United Way of Racine County can be made at UnitedWayRacine.org/Give
  • Donate food to Racine County Food Bank 
    • Deposit food in Racine County Food Bank barrels at local Pick N' Save and Piggly Wiggly stores 
      • Focus on the Food Drive Five: Racine County Food Bank logo
        • Protein foods: Nuts, canned seafood and canned poultry
        • Fruit: Packed in juice, dried and sauced
        • Soups: With protein and vegetables
        • Whole-grain: Pasta and cereal
        • Vegetables: Colorful, canned
  • Volunteer at a food pantry or at Racine County Food Bank

  • Host a food drive at your church, workplace, civic organization or school
    • Complete the contact form below to get information and arrange pickup of donated items

At this time, food and monetary donations are our highest priorities. Volunteer opportunities are currently limited but may increase in the coming weeks.
