2022 Power of the Purse

Power of the Purse is back and better than ever! This year, Women United is offering participants the chance to snag that bag you've had your eye on by browsing at our in-person event or bidding on your favorite items from the comfort of your living room. You can even bid on items two days before the event this year and still attend the in-person event. No matter how you participate, all purchases support programs that focus on women and children through the Brighter Future Fund, making your shopping experience that much better.

Make sure to register for a Bid Beacon account and download the app ahead of the auction opening.  

How to make a Bid Beacon account and download the app

1. Click here to go to the Bid Beacon website.

2. Fill in your email address and create a password.

3. Fill in your first and last name, create a display name and fill in your phone number.

4. Enter Access Code 29FTPM.

5. Click Create Account.

Download the app to bid in real time for Android or iPhone.

*Note: Bidding will not begin until Wednesday, April 27 at 11:30 a.m.

Bid on auction items

Whether or not you attend the in-person event, the bidding process for Power of the Purse this year will be completely virtual. To see and bid on auction items, register for a Bid Beacon account and download the app through the link above. Bid Beacon will accept bids between 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27 and 12:30 p.m. on Friday, April 29.

Attend our in-person event on April 29

Our in-person event will take place on Friday, April 29 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Meadowbrook Country Club, located at 2149 N. Green Bay Road in Mt. Pleasant. 

Attendees will be treated to a lunch that includes assorted wraps, vegetable curdité, chocolate chip cookies and a beverage center with water, cofee, iced tea and lemonade. Attendees will be able to listen to a speech by guest speaker Trish Howard, RUSD school counselor at Red Apple Elementary and will have the opportunity to browse the auction items and a wine pull sponsored by Festival Foods.

Women United will also be running a book drive during the event with proceeds benefiting the 2021 Brighter Future Fund grant recipients.
