Join YAR

Looking for a unique volunteer opportunity? Want to meet new people and have fun while improving Racine County? Join the Youth As Resources board!

Board member applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and are reviewed as board member positions become available. 

Board Member Requirements

  • Racine County resident
  • Interested in being a community leader
  • Understands the importance of youth involvement in Racine County
  • Recognizes the power of youth-adult partnerships
  • Willing to fulfill board member responsibilities

Board Member Responsibilities

  • Attend 1-2 board meetings each month
  • Screen grant applications
  • View project presentations
  • Make funding recommendations
  • Attend project site visits
  • Participate in board service projects
  • Serve on a board sub-committee

Board meetings generally take place on 1-2 Monday evenings per month and begin at 5:15 pm. Board meetings are held at United Way of Racine County. The majority of YAR events take place during the school year.
