Board member applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and are reviewed as board member positions become available.
Board Member Requirements
- Racine County resident
- Interested in being a community leader
- Understands the importance of youth involvement in Racine County
- Recognizes the power of youth-adult partnerships
- Willing to fulfill board member responsibilities
Board Member Responsibilities
- Attend 1-2 board meetings each month
- Screen grant applications
- View project presentations
- Make funding recommendations
- Attend project site visits
- Participate in board service projects
- Serve on a board sub-committee
Board meetings generally take place on 1-2 Monday evenings per month and begin at 5:15 pm. Board meetings are held at United Way of Racine County. The majority of YAR events take place during the school year.
