Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
Racine Kenosha Community Action Agency, Inc., in conjunction with many other local partners, will again host the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program this tax season. The program provides free tax preparation services to income eligible residents. Allowing for fast, accurate, and secure filing, all returns are electronically completed and filed by IRS-certified preparers. The program runs February 2 - April 12, and is currently taking appointments. Program participants are asked to arrive at least fifteen (15) minutes prior to their appointment.
This year, the Racine County Workforce Development Center, Racine Public Library, and the Racine County/Ives Groves complex in Sturtevant will be utilized as tax preparation centers. Childcare will be offered at the Workforce Development Center on a first come, first serve basis.
The Program will also offer walk-in clinics at various points throughout the season, and make computers available to taxpayers wishing to self-file. Please contact the VITA Coordinator at the number below for additional information.
RKCAA works in partnership with the City of Racine, Racine County UW-Extension, Racine County Workforce Development Center, Racine Public Library, United Way of Racine County, Educators Credit Union, Racine Community Foundation, Wells Fargo, and the Internal Revenue Service to provide this service to the community.
